Summer becomes délavé… Tie Dye and Batik.. the color trend of 2021

When we talk about délavé shades, we immediately imagine the 70s, psychedelic shades of color and a more alternative fashion... but let's try to clarify the thousands of shades to get to know the latest Summer 2021 trend in depth!

It is a very ancient fabric dyeing technique.. the first attestations are in Egypt, we are talking about the fourth century. BC and later in a large part of Asia and Africa, a technique always linked to manifestations of a religious nature, probably due to the allusion to the symbolism obtained by observing the fabrics, mainly spirals and circular shapes.

From a technical point of view, it is possible to create nuanced fabrics either with binding or with waterproofing. The binding consists in tying the fabric in a skein with string and subsequent immersion in the dye... so that when the fabric is opened, shades of color result, while the waterproofing consists in the use of wax, resin or vegetable pastes for covering of some parts of the fabric, so that at the moment of dye immersion the covered parts are waterproofed by the colour.

In general we talk about reserve dyeing, specifically if the fabrics are made with binding the result will be Tie dye, 'knot and dye' if with waterproofing the result will be batik.

So this summer all madly in love with Tie Dye and Batik.. for the unbridled desire for freedom, in memory of the 70s..and maybe..and why not also a little desire to feel alternative with this uneven color . So not only at the beach.. on vacation, but also in the city, in the streets of the center Tie Dye and Batik prints will not go unnoticed.

A little exotic or a little hippie? Oh no… once again the watchword is Boho Chic!
